What is Ha'Besorah?! What is the Good News ... the Gospel?! What is it?!

The key to understanding the Gospel is to know why it is good news. To do that, we must start with the bad news. The Old Testament Law was given to Israel during the time of Moses (Deuteronomy 5 vs 1). The Law can be thought of as a measuring stick, and sin is anything that falls short of “perfect” according to that standard. The righteous requirement of the Law is so stringent that no human being could possibly follow it perfectly, in letter or in spirit. Despite our “goodness” or “badness” relative to each other, we are all in the same spiritual boat—we all have sinned, and the punishment for sin is death, i.e. separation from ABBA, the source of life (Romans 3 vs 23).

So ... In order for anyone to go to heaven, ABBA’s dwelling place and the realm of life and light, then sin must be somehow removed or paid for ... which is a requirement for ABBA's righteous justice. The Law established the fact that cleansing from sin can only happen through the bloody sacrifice of an innocent life (Hebrews 9 vs 22)

* ... culled/tweaked from gotquestions.org

MASHIACH lived a perfect sinless life on earth then He offered up His 'innocent' life for our sins to pay the sin debt/penalty and reconcile us back to ABBA in Heaven.

For YAHAWAH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

... John 3 vs 16

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

 ... Romans 10 vs 10

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of ELOHIYM: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

 ... Ephesians 2 vs 8 - 9

MASHIACH suffered for our sins, died, was buried and then rose again from the dead on the 3rd day. He ascended into Heaven and is now Glorified. He bore the weight, the humiliation and the pain of our sins at Calvary and He received the full measure of the punishment of ABBA's Wrath in our stead. Then He defeated death by rising again on the 3rd day. Now all who hear this Good News and believe are saved and will receive everlasting life.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved

... Acts 4 vs 12

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved

... Matthew 24 vs 13

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of ELOHIYM, even to them that believe on his name: ... John 1 vs 12

NOW faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

... Hebrews 11 vs 1

The Just shall live by faith:

Isaiah 50 vs 10;

Habakkuk 2 vs 4;

Romans 1 vs 17;

Romans 4 vs 18;

Galatians 3 vs 11;

Philippians 3 vs 3;

Hebrews 10 vs 38;

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the qodeshiym.

... Jude 1 vs 3

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as ELOHIYM has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

... Romans 12 vs 3

What is this faith? Faith in MASHIACH ... that He suffered and died for our sins, was buried and on the 3rd day, He rose again from the dead, has ascended into Heaven ... and is now seated at ABBA's Right Hand Glorified.

The Kingdom of YAHAWAH is here. Repent of your sins and believe in MASHIACH for He has declared that he who believes in MASHIACH and endures to the end in his belief will be saved.

Reason for the need of this Good News ... SIN!!!

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that does good, no, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon YAHAWAH

...Psalm 14 vs 3 - 4

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

... Isaiah 64 vs 6

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after ELOHIYM. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one.

... Romans 3 vs 10 - 12

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of ELOHIYM; ... Romans 3 vs 23

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

... Romans 5 vs 12

So MASHIACH brought the Good News to saves us all from damnation which is the penalty resulting from the original sin of Adam's fall and the continuation of the sin of mankind all through time.

Ha'Besorah (The Gospel) ... the Good News ... is truly about ABBA's Love, Forgiveness and Justice ... See John 3 vs 16

It is about the Salvation of Mankind.

Ha'MASHIACH, declared in Genesis, prophesied of by Moses and referred to in numerous books of the Torah, lived a sinless life, He suffered ABBA's Wrath for our iniquities and received our punishment in our stead then He died as a blameless sacrifice for our sins. He was buried and He arose from the dead after 3 days, defeating death, to bring forth a new abundant life with Him.

He ascended onto ABBA YAHAWAH in Heaven where He now constantly intercedes for us. He will return to judge all. Read Hebrews 9 for more in-depth Gospel details about the new covenant and our High Priest.

As seen in 1 Corinthians 15 vs 1 - 4 the Gospel is a proclamation of these 3 very important things:

  • MASHIACH suffered and died for our sins according to the scriptures

=> references are found in the Torah and the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant)/ New Testament ... in Genesis, the Psalms, Isaiah, the 4 Gospels, Paul's letters, Peter's letters and more

  • MASHIACH was buried

=> compared to baptism by Paul and Peter 1 Peter 3 vs 20 - 21

  • MASHIACH rose again the 3rd day according to the scriptures

=> MASHIACH predicted His resurrection in Matthew 27 vs 63 & John 2 vs 19 - 22

But ... most importantly ... the resurrection is key with regards to the Gospel or our faith is in vain as Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15 vs 14

Observe the following 3 days references (death, burial and resurrection) according to the following scriptures:

Matthew 12 vs 40 (Jonah)

=> Three days and nights in the belly of a great fish

Joshua 2 vs 15 - 18 (Rahab's cord)

=> the reference in vs 16 has 3 days between chebel (cord or pain = cross) from vs 15 to the tiqvah (cord or hope = resurrection) in vs 18

Psalm 22 vs 6 (Tolah worm)

=> tolah means 'scarlet' referring to crimson dye made from the cermes vermilio worm which has a 3 day lifestyle from which the crimson wax that it secretes changes to white ... see Isaiah 1 vs 18

Genesis 22 & Hebrews 11 vs 19 (Akedah)

=> The Resurrection ... I AM the Resurrection and the Life: John 11 vs 21 - 27

... Matthew 28 vs 5 - 6

... Mark 16 vs 6

... Luke 24 vs 6 - 7

... John 20 vs 8 - 9

For if we believe that YAHAWAHSHAH died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in YAHAWAHSHAH will ELOHIYM bring with him.

...1 Thessalonians 4 vs14

MASHIACH's Resurrection:

Romans 4 vs 25 (Raised for our justification)

1 Corinthians 15 vs 1 - 4 (Key to Ha'Besorah)

1 Corinthians 15 vs 14 (without the resurrection our faith is in vain)

Acts 1 vs 22 (Pre-requisite for being an Apostle) ... reference to resurrection*

Declared as key truth:

Acts 2 vs 24 - 36 (Pentecost ... Peter).

Acts 3 vs 15 (Solomon's Porch ... Apostles)

Acts 4 vs 10 (before Sanhedrin)

Acts 5 vs 30 (before Sanhedrin)

Acts 10 vs 40 (proclaimed to gentiles)

Acts 13 vs 34 (proclaimed to gentiles)

Revelation 1 vs 5 (the firstborn of the dead)

Revelation 1 vs 18 (I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore)

Revelation 2 vs 8 (These things says the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive)

Ha'Besorah ... the Gospel ... the Good News of salvation is to be shared. We are charged with The Great Commission by MASHIACH. We are to go forth into all nations and make disciples of men.

The church has a mandate to spread the Gospel according to Matthew 28 vs 18 - 20 to all men. We are to share the Good News, in love, calling men and women to believe in MASHIACH, teaching them to guard all things that MASHIACH had commanded His Apostles.

For the sake of His Gospel and the salvation of the souls of man let us all take on the Great Commission as obedient followers of MASHIACH.

And now I leave you with this:

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things

 ... Philippians 4 vs 8

Shalom!
